- Harden Furniture (McConnellsville, NY): family-owned since 1844, this manufacturer was known for its beautiful hardwood and upholstered furniture. In 2018 the factory shut down, ending a furniture tradition that lasted through five generations.
- Lyndon Furniture (Lyndon, VT): wood furniture in many styles, made in Vermont (in Lyndon and Concord) from American hardwoods (cherry, maple, oak, and walnut). Includes a "create your own" option, where you select style, wood, stain and hardware. Use Dealer Locator.
- Maine Cottage (Annapolis, MD): hardwood and upholstery furniture in your choice of 35 paint colors and many original fabrics. If you are lucky enough to live near Annapolis, visit their Design Center.
- Nichols and Stone (Gardner, MA): now officially known as "Nichols and Stone by Stickley", incredible wood furniture in European, Early American, and Country styles. I love the Williamsburg collection! (A few lines are imported, so verify origin before you buy)
- Owen Suter's Fine Furniture (Richmond, VA): handcrafted neo-classical Americana furniture in hardwoods such as cherry, mahogany and walnut. Their curated replicas of 18th Century furniture are featured at Colonial Williamsburg and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.

- Thos. Moser (Auburn, ME): Shaker-inspired, handcrafted wooden furniture with simple, functional forms. Made to order.
- Urban Billy (Chicago, IL): beautiful handcrafted hardwood furniture for bedroom and living room. Clean, urban design that blends with any decor.

- Replogle Globes (Hillside, IL): world globes in many styles, still made in USA in a fascinating blend of artistry, craftmanship and geography. As the company CEO pointed out to me, globes imported from China can be caught up in the propaganda of how national boundaries are depicted. Another reason to buy an American-made globe that includes up-to-date and accurate information. Lots of gorgeous styles to adorn any home.
